Letter of concern to
Senator Dianne Feinstein:
July 11, 2002
Dear Senator Feinstein:
It is clear that Moslem students on American campuses
are a constant source of trouble and agitation.
This was clearly demonstrated in the recent upheavals
at the University of California campus in Berkeley and at the campus of
San Francisco State University in San Francisco. These students, who supposedly
have come to this country in order to further their education, engage
almost without exception in political agitation, violent rioting, provocative
pamphleteering, and other activities that are not consonant with the supposed
purpose of their stay in our country.
Please consider introducing legislation to the effect
that any foreign student, in this country on a student visa, could be
immediately expelled and deported if he/she engages in activities that,
at the sole criterion of university authorities is not in keeping with
his/her expressed academic purposes.
I believe that the threat of expulsion for any such political
activity would go a long way, if not totally eliminate undesirable, provocative,
and violent action by Moslem students on American campuses.
Thank you for your consideration, and sincerely yours,
Gerardo Joffe
