Recent research, titled “The New Anti-Semites,” correctly identifies anti-Zionism as the newest form of the world’s oldest hate.
In the U.S. House of Representatives, a woman who makes anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist statements has just joined The Squad.
Will this frightening reality inspire you to fight back?
Won’t you act now to help FLAME tell the truth about Israel in mainstream media?
Just go to donate now to contribute.
Dear Friend of FLAME:
I’m sure you agree that hateful anti-Zionism is more prevalent in American society than ever before.
I’m sure you’d also agree that those who oppose the existence of Israel—who oppose the self-determination of the Jewish people to create a thriving, democratic state in their ancient homeland—are anti-Semites.
The bitter irony for me is that even as we pro-Israel advocates achieve greater success in our work—recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, a halt to U.S. funding of Palestinian terrorism, more states opposing the hateful BDS movement—so do Israel’s enemies grow more vocal.
Not only does the BDS movement continue to thrive on college campuses—even under Covid!— but anti-Zionism has also become more “mainstreamed” in the halls of the U.S. Congress—especially by a growing group of openly anti-Israel Representatives (Omar Ilhan, Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Mark Pocan, Betty McCollum, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia and Ayanna Pressley, Andre Carson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Joaquin Castro).
Former Presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders had the nerve to declare Israel’s longest-serving, duly elected Prime Minister—Benjamin Natanyahu—a “racist.” If that’s not anti-Semitic, it’s certainly despicably disrespectful of one of America’s strongest and most loyal allies.
Raphael Warnock—who was just elected a U.S. Senator from Georgia—was condemned by an organization of 1,500 rabbis for his anti-Semitic, anti-Israel statements—including a comparison of Israel with apartheid South Africa. Appalling.
In fact, anti-Semitism has become commonplace . . . and even acceptable in many social and political circles—and in the media—especially among the ultra-Left.
Here’s good news: FLAME has been fighting these forms of anti-Zionism—with outspoken pro-Israel messages in mainstream media—for some 32 years.
We’ve done it not with large institutional grants or wealthy donors, but rather through grassroots support of tens of thousands of Israel-lovers, just like you.
Won’t you take a minute right now to reaffirm your commitment to righteous Israel—and to FLAME’s good work—with a kind, year-end membership donation?
Anti Zionism is racism—now you can help us fight it
Israel is the embodiment of 3,000 years of Jewish yearning for safe haven—for a state where Jews can live without fear of persecution . . . and can fulfill their spiritual destiny to be a light unto the nations. Good news: That’s exactly what Israel is doing—and we say “hallelujah!”
But, Jewish or not, if you oppose the national aspirations of the Jewish people (while failing to oppose the aspirations of Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Indian and other peoples), that’s double-standard anti-Semitism—and that’s a form of racism.
My friends, it’s bad enough when Jews are attacked by anti-Semitic right wingers—like the Pittsburgh synagogue murderer or the Jersey City kosher-market killers.
But it’s doubly galling when the Jewish state is attacked from the far left—like 107 Congress members who wrote a letter opposing the rights of Jews to create communities in the heart of the biblical lands of Judea-Samaria (the West Bank).
Or when a Senator like Elizabeth Warren declares that the U.S. should cut foreign aid to Israel.
I think you’ll be pleased that in 2005—fully 16 years ago—FLAME published a message in U.S. newspapers nationwide called “The New Anti-Semitism .”
Unfortunately, the thesis of this op-ed is, disturbingly, still on target.
In it we exposed the emerging anti-Zionists as closet anti-Semites. Today, these Israel-hating anti-Semites are out of the closet. We must continue to identify and challenge them out in the media.
That’s why I think you’ll also be pleased that FLAME ran the editorial, “The Israel Apartheid Lie ,” in the Sunday New York Times.
As you know, running messages in mainstream media that defend Israel from the haters—that offer a powerful antidote to the virulent lies and insidious anti-Semitism of ultra-left journalists and politicians—that’s exactly what FLAME does.
In 2021, with help from members like you, we’ve also published the following outspoken messages to millions of readers—in media like the New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, New York Post and Houston Chronicle—in support of Israel, which I invite you to review:
“Ben & Jerry’s Bad Taste”
“The Ugly Truth About Hamas”
“No Fool’s Deal with Iran”
“The Israel Apartheid Lie”
In the previous year, we published these hard-hitting editorials in major mainstream media:
“Is a Two-State Solution Still Possible?”
“Aid to Israel Makes the U.S. Safer”
“What Is Palestinian Territory?”
“BDS, Academic Freedom and Anti-Semitism”
These messages are powerful PR for Israel, but as I’m sure you can imagine, telling the truth about Israel via such paid editorial messages is costly. Are you ready to join us?
Won’t you help FLAME continue to run hard-hitting editorials in mainstream media by renewing or becoming a new member in FLAME? Go to donate now to join us.
No other organization fights back in mainstream media as FLAME does.
Here at FLAME, we have fought Israel’s attackers in the press for 32 years—and we fight valiantly on, no matter who the political leaders are in the United States or who they are in Israel.
We fight on, because Israel must remain a bipartisan issue for Americans. And the only way to insure that—we believe—is to keep convincing the American people of Israel’s righteous cause.
We fight for the truth against the biased United Nations, the lies of Palestinian leaders, deadly anti-Israel machinations of Iran, and against the hateful calumnies of the BDS movement.
But, above all, we know from history that Israel’s enemies will never give up.
So what can we do—how should we respond? We can either lay down and give up . . . or we can get up, stand up and continue to fight for the freedom of the Jewish people and the Jewish state of Israel.
I think you know how we at FLAME feel.
We hope you’ll join us in redoubling our commitment to telling the truth—hasbarah—about Israel in mainstream media. Won’t you help us achieve our largest hasbarah budget ever by making your final 2021 membership donation today—right now while you have this email in front of you?
Let me remind you of additional good news: Morocco and Bhutan just joined the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan in formalizing peace agreements with Israel! More Arab nations will follow!
Won’t you please help us rejoin the fight in 2022 with more muscle—in more media—than ever before? Please make a generous tax-deductible donation before the December 31 year-end deadline.
Above all, we must not forget:
- The media still continue to pound Israel daily with lies and biased analysis
- The U.N. continues almost weekly to pass anti-Israel resolutions,
- The BDS movement continues to win votes at major universities based on abject lies (though we are winning important battles here as well!)
- Iran, which still makes murderous threats against Israel, every day moves closer to a nuclear bomb, enabling it to destroy nearly 7 million Jews in Eretz Yisrael
On the one hand we feel joy as we celebrate our victories for Israel—and there have been so many in the last 12 months.
On the other hand, as a pro-Israel advocate, it makes me fighting mad at the media, the BDS haters, the U.N., Iran and the Islamists who would decimate the Jewish state.
As you know, FLAME tells the truth about Jerusalem, Jewish history in the Holy Land and the inestimable political and spiritual value of Israel to the United States.
We’ve accomplished so much—and we’ll accomplish more in 2022 with your help. Won’t you please help keep the fire of Jerusalem alive—and enable FLAME to keep doing its good work—by making a membership contribution right now?
Here’s the double payoff for making a donation to FLAME at this time:
First, you help tell the truth about Israel in the media—something that’s sorely needed if we’re to maintain vital U.S. financial and political support of the Jewish state.
Second, you can close out this year’s holidays with even more joy in your heart, because you have done a mitzvah for Israel—a generous good deed appropriate to the season.
That’s why, if you’re angry about attacks on Israel in the U.N., and if you’ve ever bemoaned Israel’s “bad PR,” I urge you to help FLAME with your financial support at this time. Just go to donate to help now.
Please remember that the overwhelming majority of FLAME’s financial support comes from individuals just like you. One by one, Jews, Christians and unaffiliated alike contribute generously to this noble cause—to help ensure that Israel survives.
So whether you give $1,000 or $500 or $100 . . . or even $50 or $36 or $18—every donation is important—every dollar you contribute helps us keep telling the truth in 2022 about the inspiring Jewish nation.
Best of all, of course, your donation is tax-deductible.
Won’t you act now to make your donation online? Just go to donate now.
Thanks in advance for your year-end generosity and your continued support of FLAME’s good work.

P.S. |
We at FLAME usually focus, as we should, on the challenges Israel faces in the world—the unfair treatment the Jewish state receives at the hands of the U.N., continuing rocket, gun, car and knife attacks by Arab terrorists, and the existential threat that confronts Israel from Iran. But what we must not forget is the amazing success story that Israel represents for Jews, for the United States and for civilization itself. It’s inspiring! To clarify, celebrate and publicize the good news about Israel, FLAME is now publishing a hasbarah message— “Why Israel Matters”—in media reaching 10 million readers. I hope you’ll review this powerful position paper and pass it on to all your contacts who will benefit from this message. If you agree that FLAME’s bold—but costly—brand of public relations on Israel’s behalf is critical, I urge you to support our publication of such outspoken messages. Please consider giving donation now, as you’re able—with $500, $250, $100, or even $18. (Remember, your donation to FLAME is tax deductible.) To donate online, just go to donate now. Now more than ever we need your support to ensure that Israel gets the support it needs in 2022—from the U.S. Congress, from the President, and from the American people. |
